A heartfelt thank you
I am very humble and grateful to be beaten as a Knight of Dannebrog.
This means a lot to me – both as a Faroese woman and as a people’s power over many years.
And I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the others who have also received knighthoods.
To those who doubt: I am convinced that the Faroe Islands should be an independent country. Accepting an honor from an institution in the Commonwealth, such as the Royal Household, has nothing to do with my belief in liberation.
One honor is one honor, the victory of Elsebeth Mercedis Gunnleygsdóttir.
