Emma Ljungdahl new player in KÍ

She has played for Østersund IF, the second best league in Sweden, but has been out with an injury lately.

KÍ women have strengthened themselves with one new player. That’s the taste of Lucas Lund, physiotherapist of the best men’s team.

Emma has extensive experience in the second best league in Sweden, where she has played as a midfielder and on both backs.

– It is definitely a good player that we have got into the team. She is just starting to train again, after a serious injury, and so of course she will have time to recover completely. It is not yet clear how we will use her, and how soon it will be, but there is no doubt that she has a strong mentality, routine and good leadership qualities, says head coach Allan Drost.

– This was an opportunity that arose because the physiotherapist on the best men’s team and Emma are a couple, and she has chosen to move to Klaksvík. We think it’s exciting and with her qualities, she can definitely strengthen the team.

No more casting calls this summer

Allan Drost points out that they are always looking at how they can strengthen the KÍ team as best as possible. But at the moment KÍ has a very strong squad, which he is very satisfied with and therefore the intention is not to get more players in this summer.

– This is the team that we will advance to the final, and I have full confidence in the hardworking players we have, says Allan Drost at the end.
