Expelled Thunberg refused to watch video
Swedish activist Greta Thunberg was deported from Israel on Tuesday, the day after the navy prevented her and a group of pro-Palestinian activists from sailing to Gaza.
On the way to the plane, she tells reporters that they were kidnapped by Israel.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz reports that Greta and the rest of the crew arrived in Israel last night.
They were driven into a room to show the truth about what Hamas did 20 months ago, Katz says.
– But when the video started playing and they saw what it was about, they refused to continue watching, he says.
Four of the group, including Thunberg, agreed to leave immediately, while the other eight opposed the repatriation order.
They are now being held in custody at Givon prison in Ramle.
There they receive assistance from lawyers from Adalah – the Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights. This is a Palestinian legal aid group and research center.
The activists are scheduled to be brought before the Immigration and Detention Court.
