Faer Isles Distillery was in Brooklyn last week at a trade show. This was the first of its kind they have been on in the USA.

“The Bar Convent Brooklyn” is a sales event for professionals only. There were therefore only experts in spirits at the fair and the director, Dánial Hoydal, thinks that it was especially exciting to receive such extremely good feedback.

Barkeepers, sommeliers, chefs, bar and restaurant owners, importers, food journalists, distributors…

Dimma.fo asked him some questions when he returned to Faroe Islands.

Among other things, we would like to know if they managed to find any customers overseas? And if we can expect them to collaborate with more artists in the future.

We note here that Eivør has collaborated with the distillery to design the bottles for their “Subsea Vodka”. See more collaboration with Eivør

-Faer Isle Distillery reached an agreement with an importer at the convention.

The next step will be to get agreements in place with distributors, because in the USA sales must go through such. It is not possible to sell directly to the bars.

Although the US market is particularly difficult at the moment after several households, among others. at the second largest distributor in the country, and most of them therefore do not accept new products at the moment, so we still managed to get meetings with some interesting distributors, says Dánial and continues

We have many collaborations with Faroese artists in addition to Eivør. However, that collaboration was a bit special, because it made our new bottles – and the bottle is sometimes very central to a spirits brand, concluded Dánial.
