Faroese volleyball players against Iceland today

On Friday, the Icelandic men’s national volleyball team left for Iceland, where their first round of the Silver League will be played. Today at. 18 will be played against Iceland, and on Saturday at. 16 will be played against Sweden.

The chances of winning in Iceland are good. Last year, the Faroe Islands met Iceland twice in the Silver League, and then the teams won each match, and in the training matches between them in May this year the teams won each match again.

Iceland has already played two matches in the tournament and has lost both 3-0 to Luxembourg and Austria.

On Saturday, the Faroe Islands play against Sweden, which seems to be much stronger than the Faroe Islands and Iceland. Sweden has also played two matches and has won them both convincingly 3-0 against Azerbaijan and Georgia.

A total of eight teams are in the Silver League, and the Faroe Islands were to play against six of them. In addition to Iceland and Sweden, the Faroe Islands will also meet Azerbaijan, Austria, Luxembourg and Georgia. The only team that the Faroe Islands do not meet is Hungary.

The matches against Azerbaijan and Austria will be played in the sports hall at Sandur on 20 and 22 June respectively. The last round will be played by the Faroe Islands against Luxembourg and Georgia on 28 and 29 June in Georgia.
