“I am most excited to represent the Faroe Islands!”
Fellowship?
Klaksvíkar badminton club (KBF).
How long have you been practicing badminton?
Since the 1st class
What do you like best about badminton?
I like the mix of how much it requires physically, technically and tactically, and there is nothing like a good rewarding badminton match.
What is your favorite group? Single, double or mix?
I like singles, where you take care of everything yourself on the banana, but sharing the banana with someone else in doubles, and the fast game, I think is much more fun.
What is your favorite genre?
Cross the net and smash.
Who is your role model in badminton?
Since I started playing, I have always looked up to the older Faroese girls who were good when I was younger. They motivated me because I wanted to approach their level, and they made me have something to work towards.
How does it feel to be selected for the Island Games in Orkney?
It feels really good to once again be selected for the Island Games, especially now that it went so well last time.
What is your language in the Orkney Islands?
Of course to win the team competition again this year, and in the individual I will of course strive for the gold;)
How do you prepare for the competition?
I have been preparing for a while now with strength training, where I have especially focused on the prevention of injuries I have struggled with before, conditioning training and not least match training
What are you looking forward to most in the Orkney Islands?
I look forward to the competition, good cohesion and a good atmosphere. Also to see how the level and conditions are compared to last time, and most of all to represent the Faroe Islands!
