Julian breaks 5000 meter record
Today Julian Gegersen from Treysti in Klaksvík has taken one of the strongest and oldest running records in Faroe Islands
As far back as July 29, 1993, Albert Marni got an excellent time on the five kilometers in the Olavsøkurenning, when he ran the distance in 15 minutes and 24 seconds – and since then the record has stood – until today.
Because today – 32 years later – Julian broke 19 seconds of the time he finished with a super time of 15 minutes and 5 seconds in Battersea Park in London!
Therefore, Julian now holds the Faroese record for 5000 meters out on the roads.
And maybe it’s just a matter of time before the phenomenal 15 minute mark is reached.
Congratulations on the record Julian
