Óli equalized with the last shot

The North Atlantic neighborhood match against Iceland ended in a draw. Although the Faroese defense was lame for most of the game, the good attack ensured enough to draw 35-35, after the Faroe Islands were ahead 21-19 in the first half.

The Faroe Islands were ahead until the 55th minute, when the Icelanders equalised. The Icelanders also came forward in the 58th minute, and therefore it became one point welcome despite everything.

The first half started with a slow pace, although the Faroes played 7 against 6. The Icelanders quickly decided what chances they had and came a lot of goals, 15 goals in total after 10 minutes, 8-7 The Faroe Islands played well in the attack, where Óli Mittún continued, where he missed yesterday. The Icelandic defense tried to pack Óli in, but this gave more space on the right flank to Høgni Højsted and Trúgvi Hávardsson. The Faroese attack went well, but the defense struggled, with the Icelanders scoring 19 goals in the first half. Okkara had a good moment 10 minutes before halftime, where the Faroe Islands came out ahead with 5 goals. The Icelanders then went to defend Óli Mittún and it created some unrest, and the Icelanders reduced the difference again down to two goals, 21-19, until halftime. Óli was mansvardur the rest of the game.

The Faroe Islands tried to defend further in the second half, but the defense never got hold of the very well-played Elmar Erlingsson, who scored 17 goals and was voted player of the day. In the attack, the defense of Óli gave more space to Trúgvi Hávardsson, who was good at making himself pumped to the space with one against one play and inputs to Ísak Vedelsbøl on the line, who scored well today. However, it was the Icelanders who had the upper hand in the second half, while ours struggled to hang on. Ours were behind with a few seconds left, but defended ours well, Iceland was awarded for an attack error, and with three seconds left Óli Mittún was tackled hard and the Faroe Islands got a free kick. Óli put the hood himself safely into the net and the second point was saved.
