After the last general meeting of Stjörnan, the committee immediately began preparing for the upcoming season. One big task that had to be solved was the coaching of both the adults and the younger ones. The committee now announces that they have reached an agreement on the coaching issue.
To stay in shape, the best women’s team has been training regularly since the tournament ended. After training this morning, the club invited to breakfast, and here the new coach of the best women’s team was presented. The new coach will be 31-year-old Terji Mørk. Although Terji has never coached the best league before, he has extensive experience as a coach at Neistan. he has been an assistant coach of the best men’s team. He has also been the national team coach of the U17 boys. Terji comes from a well-known handball family, his father, Jógvan Martin Mørk, was an image of the best men’s team at Neistan in the 70’s and 80’s, and he also played on the Faroese national team. Terji’s siblings have also been among the best handball players in the country.
Norðlýsið got the word on Terji, and he says that he is very excited about the task. His opinion is that Stjörnan is an efficient company. He believes that the club has a good women’s team, and with a little strength to the team, which will also be worked on, so hopes are good for the coming season.
When it comes to the youth league, Stjörnan is quite excited. An agreement is made with the 23-year-old Dane Carl Vej. Despite his young age, Carl has extensive experience as a youth coach. worked with former Stjörnan head coach Per Klarup. It is agreed that Carl will have the main responsibility for g10 and g12 and 14, in addition to helping with training for the younger teams. He will also work as an assistant coach for the best women’s team.
An agreement has also been made with the well-known Westerner Sámal Jákup Djurhuus that he will be the head coach of g14 and g1 In addition to Carl and Sámal Jákup, several of the players on the best women’s team will be linked to the training of the junior teams.
Last season was organized for “Trille Trolle” handball. This is a handball game for very young children, and the response was very good. Stjörnan announces that this event will be repeated.
As something new, last season was also organized for “5 a side” handball. This is handball for 30+ both women and men, and who do not participate in the top two divisions of the handball tournament. Here meet former handball players and others who have not tried handball before. After practice, a drink will be served. The response here has also been very good, and people have enjoyed themselves easily. The intention is that this feature will be resumed next season.
