The reason for the warning is that it has been confirmed that there is too much of the substance, ochratoxin, in the raisins.
Ochratoxin can damage the liver and may also cause cancer.
But the National Board of Health emphasizes that there is no direct risk of eating a little raisin. It’s only when people, for longer. time, eat food with ochratoxin, that there is any health problem. However, they say that because of the ochratoxin in these raisins, people should not eat them.
Therefore, the National Board of Health recommends that those who are inside with these raisins throw them away, or go back to the store with them.
