The municipality of Torshavn writes on its website that they have made an agreement with LGBT+ Føroyar that the municipality will double its support to LGBT+ from 50,000 to 100,000 ISK.

According to the agreement, the Municipality of Torshavn will finance a stage, lights, sound and safety measures, including Samaritans and traffic safety measures and others, in connection with the LGBT+ parade before Olavsøkan, a maximum of ISK 100,000 for three years – i.e. 2025, 2026 and 2027.

Since the Pride parade of LGBT+ Faroe Islands was first held in 2005, it has become one of the largest individual events we have during Olavsøkan.

Usually several thousand people attend the parade and the events that are connected with it.
