This is extremely rare: Three pairs of brothers on the national team

It is not unusual for siblings to be involved in the same sport. It also happens even more often that siblings are on the same teams and then end up on national teams.

But the situation of the men’s national volleyball team is quite rare. Because the national team is in a position where it is staffed by the pairs of brothers – of course together with other players.  

At the same time, it should be added that they all have a key role on the team.

From the left in the picture, we have the twin brothers Filip and Vuk Ilic, who have their origins in Mjølnir in Klaksvík. on the right are Hjørtur Joensen and his little brother, Bjarni Joensen, who both have their origins in Sørvágur Sports Club.
