Tomorrow the prime minister will know more

This morning there was a meeting in Tindhólmur between the leading politicians in the Faroe Islands, Denmark and Greenland.

It was an informal government meeting, as it will be worded.

Tomorrow there will be a meeting of the Cooperation Council. It will be a formal meeting, where – in addition to Aksel V. Johannesen, Mette Frederiksen and Jens-Frederik Nielsen – several ministers from the Faroe Islands and Greenland and members of the Danish board will participate.

At the meeting this morning, Aksel V Johannesen spoke about the Faroese wish for greater foreign policy powers.

The prime minister told Icelandic National Broadcasting tonight that he has not received any promises, but he expects that at the meeting of the co-operation council tomorrow they will make a conclusion on how to proceed in order for the Faroe Islands to receive greater political powers in the commonwealth.
