    The Faroese U19 men started with a victory in the first match of the European Open. The Faroe Islands won 22-20 against the Netherlands, after the halftime score was 14-10 to the Faroe Islands.

    The Faroe Islands put themselves on the game from the start. The mobile attack ran well, and our chances came easily. Although the defense was not quite at the top, our Dutch kept down to 10 goals. The preliminary matches in the European Open are 2×20 minutes, where the Faroe Islands will play two matches today. The Faroe Islands were ahead 14-10 in the first half.

    Ours were not quite as accurate in the second half, and the Dutch reduced the difference to one goal. Bjarni Gunnarson Jacobsen came into the Faroese goal and had several good saves. Ours again increased the difference and the victory was never in danger. The Faroe Islands won the first match of the European Open 22-20 and will meet Finland later today, at 18:00. 16.45.
