Ukraine belongs in the EU, says Mette Frederiksen

-Ukraine belongs to the EU. It is beneficial for both Denmark and Europe. Therefore, the Danish Presidency will do everything we can to help Ukraine on its way to EU membership, says Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

The Danish government is a strong advocate of Ukraine’s inclusion in both the EU and NATO defense alliance, and will use part of its presidency to fight for the former.

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the rest of the Commission, as well as the Danish government, have gathered in Aarhus to mark the inauguration of the EU Presidency.
