Youth Summit will be held again in February 2026.
For the 10th time, students in the upper secondary schools in Faroe Islands will have the opportunity to set the agenda in the Parliament. It will take place on 3 and 4 February 2026.
The invitation to all 8th, 9th, and 10th grades to participate in the Youth Parliament 2026, has now gone out to all schools.
When Ungdómsting was last, in 2024, seven schools participated. The 32 youth MPs then considered 10 bills and proposals for approval. These were proposals that concerned, among other things: school affairs, criminal law, child support, youth services, tobacco products, etc.
The purpose of the Youth Parliament is to teach students to be a more active part of democracy and to give them an insight into the role of the Parliament in democracy.
Further information about the registration period will be sent to schools after the summer break.
