On Saturday afternoon, law enforcement received reports of a drone found grounded in Iitti, approximately 140 kilometers north of Helsinki.
Authorities have indicated that this drone resembles those previously discovered in southeastern Finland, which are believed to have connections to Ukraine. The investigation is broadening to determine if this recent sighting ties back to earlier incidents where similar drones were located in Kouvola, Luumäki, and Parikkala at the end of March.
A spokesperson for Ukraine has suggested that these drones may have inadvertently strayed into Finnish airspace due to electronic signal interference attributed to Russia. As the investigation unfolds, questions surrounding the presence of these unmanned aerial vehicles continue to raise concerns within the region.
