A Year of Trials for Else Kåss Furuseth

In what can only be described as a tumultuous year, Else Kåss Furuseth’s company, Else Kåss Furuseth AS, closed the books on 2025 with disappointing results. The financial statements reveal a significant dip in both revenue and profit, set against a backdrop of political endeavors, television controversies, and new entertainment ventures.

According to the company’s latest reports, revenue plummeted to DKK 4.5 million, marking a striking decline of 23 percent from the previous year’s DKK 5.9 million. Profitability followed a similar trend, with annual profits dropping dramatically from DKK 2.4 million to just DKK 921,755.

The challenges of 2025 were marked not only by these financial figures but also by Kåss Furuseth’s ambitious foray into the political realm. She founded the Loneliness Party, aiming to shine a light on issues such as loneliness, alienation, and suicide prevention. However, the initiative received a lukewarm reception, garnering just over 700 votes in Norway’s Oslo elections, ultimately leading to the party’s dissolution.

With a spotlight on her political pursuits, Kåss Furuseth’s artistic endeavors took a backseat. Earlier in the year, she captivated audiences with “Best in Show” at the Christiania Teater, a collaboration that featured notable figures from the Norwegian entertainment scene. The show, filmed for broadcast on Max and TVNorge, encapsulated her flair for creativity.

However, her political project soon attracted controversy. The involvement of several NRK personalities prompted criticism, leading the broadcaster to suspend a planned series and podcast. As the year progressed, issues compounded when Kåss Furuseth canceled scheduled performances, following reports of late election campaign contribution filings linked to her company.

Despite these setbacks, Kåss Furuseth didn’t completely step away from the spotlight. She continued to produce content, releasing new episodes of her podcast, “The Kåss Furuseths,” and joined forces with fellow entertainers for TV 2’s Christmas calendar, “Rampenissen,” which debuted on December 1.

Financially, while the operating profit sank from DKK 2.8 million in 2024 to DKK 1.1 million in 2025, the company’s equity remains robust at DKK 13.5 million. Additionally, a dividend of DKK 1.5 million was issued in 2025.

Efforts to reach Kåss Furuseth for comment have thus far been unsuccessful. Nevertheless, her oscillation between comedy and political ambition paints a fascinating, albeit rocky, portrait of a year defined by evolving aspirations and unforeseen challenges.
