Exciting Racing Action: French Oaks Day at Chantilly and Doncaster

This Sunday, Sky Sports Racing will showcase the thrilling French Oaks from Chantilly, complemented by local races from Doncaster.

3:05 PM Chantilly – Diamond Necklace Shines Bright

The spotlight of the day is firmly on the prestigious Group One Prix de Diane, where the stunning Diamond Necklace leads a competitive field of eleven horses.

Aidan O’Brien, known for his illustrious training career, has achieved victory in this race only once—with Joan Of Arc in 2021. This year, however, he is poised to claim a second win with Diamond Necklace, who remains unbeaten after her impressive performances as a two-year-old. She made a spectacular return to form by clinching the French 1000 Guineas, and the additional two furlongs in this race should pose no issues for her.

Challenging her are several strong British contenders, led by William Haggas’s unbeaten filly, Little. With a perfect record of two wins from two starts, she poses a significant threat as she faces a tougher class.

Felicitas, who suffered her first defeat in her last outing against Oaks runner-up Legacy Link at York, is another serious contender. Jockey Kieran Shoemark expressed his unwavering confidence in her capabilities earlier this week.

On the French side, Green Spirit is the strongest contender, while 1000 Guineas runner-up Evolutionist, trained by Karl Burke, should not be underestimated.

2:30 PM Doncaster – Enchant and Raneem in Novice Showdown

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes promises to be an engaging contest with Enchant and Raneem both presenting formidable claims.

Daughter of Wootton Bassett, Enchant made a remarkable debut at Pontefract last June and is returning to action after missing a run at Southwell last month, sparking anticipation among fans.

Raneem, boasting an impressive pedigree, will be one to watch in the betting markets, while four-year-old Shamalza, under the guidance of new trainer Ralph Beckett, adds an intriguing dynamic to the race.

5:03 PM Chantilly – A Duel Between Sahlan and Remmooz

Anticipation builds for an exhilarating clash in the Group Three Prix Bertrand du Breuil, featuring top milers Sahlan and Remmooz.

Sahlan, who triumphed in the Group One Prix du Moulin last season, showed commendable form with a fifth-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Mile. He’s poised to benefit from this drop in grade after a slightly disappointing outing in the Lockinge last time, making him a formidable opponent.

However, Owen Burrows’ Remmooz will provide stiff competition. A classy miler, he showed promise with a third-place finish behind Jonquil at Ascot last month.

Completing the quartet are Matauri Bay and Elastic, both of whom will be looking to make their mark in this thrilling contest.

As racing fans gear up for the day’s events, the excitement is palpable—whether at Chantilly or Doncaster, quality racing is on the horizon.
