The Association of Faroese Nurses is set to convene its inaugural consultation meeting with the payroll department at the Ministry of Finance this Thursday.
Óluva í Gong, chairwoman of the association, has indicated that the meeting will be brief, with the primary focus being the presentation of their demands.
“We also have two additional introductory meetings on the agenda, during which we will discuss our specific requirements and outline our activities,” she explained.
Regarding the association’s demands, she refrained from commenting on whether they align with the collective framework established by twelve trade unions and the Ministry of Finance. This framework stipulates a salary increase of 3.87 percent, effective from October 1 of last year through September 30 of this year.
It’s worth noting that the Association of Faroese Nurses is not a party to the agreement surrounding this salary framework. Furthermore, the charter of the Association of Medical Practitioners lapsed on January 1 of this year.
