    Norwegian Athletes Gear Up for European Championships in Birmingham

    As the spotlight turns to Birmingham, the Norwegian athletics team is poised to make a strong showing at the European Championships from August 10 to 16. This week promises to be filled with thrilling performances as our athletes compete for coveted medals. Below, you’ll find a detailed day-by-day program, highlighting when to catch our athletes in action.

    Fans can enjoy all the action live on NRK as the competition unfolds. The program below outlines the daily schedule, highlighting events featuring Norwegian competitors.

    Important Note: All times are listed in Norwegian time, which is one hour ahead of Birmingham.

    What to Expect on Friday, August 14:

    Morning Session:

    • 11:35 – 100 meters hurdles, women (Heptathlon)
    • 11:40 – Women’s javelin, qualification (Group A)
      Featuring Sigrid Borge and Marie Therese Obst.
    • 11:50 – Men’s pole vault, qualification
      Featuring Sondre Guttormsen.
    • 12:05 – Men’s 4 x 400 meter relay, test heat
    • 12:25 – Women’s height (Heptathlon), Group A and B
    • 12:35 – Women’s 4 x 400 meter relay, test heat
      Norway’s team includes Lakeri Ertzgaard, Kaitesi Ertzgaard, Josefine Tomine Eriksen Aks, and Amalie Iuel (in Heat 2 at 11:46). Laura van der Veen is a reserve; Henriette Jæger is prioritizing the 400 meters but will participate if the team advances to the final.
    • 13:00 – Women’s javelin, qualification (Group B)
      Featuring Kaja Mørch Pettersen.
    • 13:05 – Men’s 1500 meters, test heat
      Featuring Narve Gilje Nordås and Andreas Fjeld Halvorsen.

    • 22:25 – Men’s 200 meters, final
    • 22:46 – Women’s 800 meters, final

      Featuring Ingeborg Østgård, Anne Gine Løvnes, and Marte Hovland.
    • 13:40 – Women’s 4 x 100 meter relay, test heat
    • 14:00 – Men’s 4 x 100 meter relay, test heat
      Norway’s lineup is yet to be determined.

    Evening Session:

    • 20:45 – Women’s 800 meters, heptathlon, final
    • 21:01 – Men’s javelin, final
    • 21:07 – Women’s high jump, final
    • 21:10 – Women’s 400 meters, final
