The Faroese women’s handball team faces an exhilarating challenge as they prepare for their European Championship singles match, set for December.
In Group E, they will contend with formidable opponents: France, Poland, and Ukraine.
While all teams in Pot 1 are known for their strength, many in the Faroese camp may have wished for a matchup against Sweden instead of the seasoned French side that recently clinched a bronze medal at the last World Championship.
Promising Athletic Opportunities
However, the Faroese women appear more optimistic when it comes to the teams drawn from Pots 2 and 4. Poland, hailing from the second-strongest pool, poses a significant challenge, but the Faroese team managed to avoid Germany, who took silver in the recent World Championship. Moreover, it’s worth noting that the tournament will take place in Katowice, a city that also witnessed the U21 national team clinching a bronze medal last year.
Joining the Faroese in the final pot is Ukraine, which, alongside Greece, may have been a preferable opponent.
The European Championship final tournament is scheduled to take place from December 3 to 20.
