This season has been anything but smooth for Lazio midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. Hopes were high that this would be the year he firmly established his presence in the team. However, the season’s early matches did not unfold as expected, leading to a significant injury. As if that weren’t enough, he later found himself sidelined, making way for Toma Bašić during a challenging period for Lazio.
The Uncertain Future of Dele-Bashiru at Lazio
Now, however, a glimmer of hope has emerged. Having overcome his physical issues, Dele-Bashiru finds himself in a position to be reinstated, particularly as Nicolò Rovella is set for surgery after conservative treatments failed to alleviate his ongoing struggle with pubalgia.
The situation is evolving, leaving various options on the table, including the possibility of transfer activity.
Dele-Bashiru is not deemed indispensable to Lazio’s plans. Should a compelling offer arise in the coming weeks, the club is prepared to consider it. While he has been adjusting to the mezzala role, his contributions have yet to reach the level required to assert his competitiveness in this high-stakes environment.
