In an exciting move that promises to shake up the European basketball landscape, Hapoel Tel Aviv has officially signed 34-year-old Czech point guard Tomas Satoransky. The talented player has inked a contract that will keep him with the Israeli club through the end of the 2026-27 season.
Satoransky joins Hapoel after spending the last four seasons with FC Barcelona, where he made a significant impact in the EuroLeague. Last season, he averaged 7.0 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game, showcasing his sharp shooting skills with an impressive 48.9% success rate from beyond the three-point arc.
Before his tenure in Barcelona, Satoransky made his mark in Seville and also enjoyed a noteworthy career in the NBA, playing for teams including the Washington Wizards, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans, and San Antonio Spurs over six seasons.
Following the announcement of his transfer, Satoransky expressed his enthusiasm about joining Hapoel. “I am very excited to be a part of Hapoel. I look forward to meeting everyone and starting this new challenge,” he stated.
Hapoel Tel Aviv’s Sports Director, George Hina, emphasized that Satoransky’s leadership on the court is precisely what the team needs as they aim for championship glory. Coach Dimitris Itoudis praised the guard’s vision, game awareness, and team-first mentality, highlighting the significant role he will play in the club’s ambitions moving forward.
