On Thursday evening, the President shared a significant announcement through his social media channels. “We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a highly sought-after and important new job in the private sector, which will be announced in the near future,” he stated.

Sources within American media suggest that Pam Bondi received this message from Trump the night before. For now, she will be succeeded by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, who expressed his gratitude to the President and paid homage to Bondi in a post on X. “Pam Bondi led the authority with strength and conviction, and I am grateful for her leadership and friendship,” he wrote.

However, the relationship between the President and Bondi has been fraught with tension on multiple occasions, particularly regarding her management of the high-profile case involving the convicted and deceased sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. “She faced significant criticism from both sides of the aisle over her approach to the investigation,” noted Sofia Yohannes, SVT’s correspondent in the U.S. “When questioned in Congress, her responses were met with considerable backlash, leading many to believe she didn’t handle it effectively.”

Furthermore, Trump has voiced dissatisfaction over certain legal proceedings against political opponents that he feels have not been easily dismissed, fueling speculation about Bondi’s future in the role of Attorney General. Just the day before, The New York Times hinted that her exit was imminent.

Bondi’s departure marks the second ministerial removal by Trump in quick succession, following the dismissal of Kristi Noem from her position as Secretary of Homeland Security earlier this month.
